The software development team at our Breukelen offices has received a boost of talent with three new developers coming on board over the past six months. “We’re very happy to have Francisco, Ola and Lex on our team,” says CEO, Jaco Brussé, “They not only bring in the skills and expertise that we need; they are also contributing their passion and energy to a young, fast-growing company that is determined to see our clients unleash their excellence.”
Visualfabriq has a unique SaaS platform and solutions rooted in deep industry expertise to enable FMCG and Retail clients to get real insights from their Big Data as they plan, manage and optimise promotions. From the outset, major industry players could see the value that visualfabriq offers, and the likes of Unilever, Heineken, Perfetti van Melle and Tiger Brands are pioneering subscribers of the visualfabriq Trade Promotion Master™ tool. Hitting the ground running as a tech start-up, visualfabriq had to meet the needs and expectations of industry giants.
The expansion of the tech team is aligned to visualfabriq’s recent organisational transformation to a wholly customer centric view. “We are now in a maturing phase as a company,” says visualfabriq’s Lead Software Developer and team leader, Etienne Posthumus: “For the development team, we’ve got strong clear vision; an open and authentic organisational culture and a place where really talented people like Ola, Francisco and Lex can thrive doling what they do best.”
Francisco González is a Theoretical Physicist and Software Developer
“I’m enjoying working on such a powerful tool,” he says of his first months at visualfabriq. “The work is challenging! There’s always something to take on and there are always opportunities to influence how the tool works for customers.”
Born in Sevilla, Spain, Francisco has degrees in Physics and Theoretical Physics from the Universities of Granada and Utrecht respectively. While passionate about science and technology, Francisco is also an enthusiastic amateur middle distance athlete and the first qualification he achieved was a Professional Degree in Music with a specialisation in the trombone.
Ola Ścisły is a software developer and physicist
She says: “It’s a great environment, very welcoming and inclusive; and at the same time very professional. The work is challenging and very complex, so there is always something to grapple with and find solutions.”
Ola hails from Poland and she started her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts but soon switched to earning a Bachelors degree in Physics from the University of Warsaw. It turned out that computational physics was a better way to combine her love of creative thinking, maths and problem solving. This year, she completed her Masters Degree in Theoretical and Computational Physics before moving to the Netherlands. Having worked as an intern at the National Centre for Nuclear Research in Warsaw and at Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, Ola has joined visualfabriq as a Junior Software Developer.
Lex Haitsma Mulier is a Software Developer and Data Scientist
“As the newest member of the team, I am really enjoying the opportunity to work together and interact,” he says, “The organizational culture is very open and people are really accessible, while the standards of professionalism are very high.”
Lex brings five years of programming experience to the visualfabriq team. He graduated from the University of Utrecht with a Bachelors degree in Information Science and from the University of Amsterdam with a Cum Laude Masters of Science in Information Studies. He brings to the team his passion for problem solving and experience in machine learning. “I would love to contribute to visualfabriq’s predictive modelling projects and help to build a strong and reliable source for promotion analytics,” he says.
