Our story

How we started

After years in the CPG industry, it was our founders’ experience that optimal strategic decision-making depends on the quality of the insights available. They were looking for a better, deeper understanding of promotion profitability, retailer contribution to gross profit or what pricing strategy would contribute most over the long run.

At the time, the solutions available on the market were inert, inflexible, and extremely expensive. The reports were often static and always outdated. The industry needed a tool to unlock all the relevant data to support revenue forecasting and optimization, easily and instantly. A solution that could integrate big data and turn it into actionable insights.

This is why they founded Visualfabriq in 2013. Driven by their vision to radically improve revenue management for CPG companies, the software drives profitable growth for CPGs while empowering all teams.

Jaco Brussé

Visualfabriq founder Jaco Brusse has enjoyed a wide-ranging, committed career in the CPG industry. Jaco has held leadership roles at Kellogg’s, P&G, Heinz and Cloetta. 

In 2013, after identifying the market opportunity for AI-enhanced RGM in the FMCG market, along with Carst Vaartjes, Jaco co-founded and became CEO of Visualfabriq. Jaco was responsible for taking Visualfabriq from a start-up to a global RGM vendor with 100+ employees and clients like Unilever, Heineken and many others across the globe.

In November 2022, Jaco stepped down as CEO and is now a member of the Board of Directors. He is now also focused on humanitarian projects as well as continuing to help Visualfabriq grow.

Carst Vaartjes

Carst co-founded Visualfabriq, and now serves as its Chief Innovation officer, responsible for the long-term product vision and functionality.

Prior to his role at Visualfabriq, he worked as a consultant for a wide range of FMCG manufacturers and retail organizations throughout Europe. As a project leader, architect, and consultant he has helped develop business intelligence and analytics strategies and implementations and won several awards from organizations such as QlikTech and Deloitte for creating and delivering innovative, ground-breaking projects.

He has designed and created innovative analytic solutions in working capital reduction, pricing optimization, supply chain visibility, procurement analytics, integrated forecasting, trade promotion management, and sales and marketing performance management.

Carst has a Master’s Degree in Business Economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He also has a TDWI CBIP certification at Mastery level and certifications in Managing Successful Programs (MSP) and Prince2.
